Hydration is not only about quantity. It's about timing, temperature and how you spread it across the day.
The midday energy dip is often read as hunger. In many cases it is mild dehydration combined with a heavy meal.
Quantity isn't enough
Drinking two litres in the evening is not the same as spreading them across the day. The body absorbs small, frequent amounts far better.
The tradition of drinking water slowly, with a few pauses, is not only etiquette — it makes absorption gentler and reduces bloating.
A simple rhythm
- A glass right after waking up.
- A glass 20 minutes before each meal.
- Room-temperature water, not ice cold, during meals.
- Stop drinking large amounts an hour before bed.
